Georgias Fantastic Tavern: Where Europe Meets Asia is free to view via this website during Tbilisi’s year as UNESCO World Book Capital. The four-day online writers’ festival, presented by artistic director Maya Jaggi  and Writers House of Georgia for an English-speaking audience, is inspired by the modernist café culture of Georgia’s first democratic republic of 1918-21 – introduced in a short documentary film, Window on Freedom. The festival marks the centenary of the Soviet occupation and 30 years since independence was restored.
