Beka Adamashvili won the EU Literature Prize in 2019 for his second book, Everybody Dies in This Novel (2018). His debut novel, Bestseller (2014), became a real bestseller in Georgia, and was published by Dedalus in November 2020 in Tamar Japaridze’s English translation. The book won a special prize at the IliaUni literary awards in Georgia, and was shortlisted for best debut in the SABA prize and best novel in the Tsinandali award. With mischievous humour and a prodigious knowledge of the classics of world literature, from Dante and Conan Doyle to Orwell and Beckett, Adamashvili pricks the bubble of literary pretensions with a wickedly satirical pen. Born in 1990, he studied Journalism and Social Sciences at the Caucasus School of Media at Caucasus University, and is also a screenwriter, a former blogger, and Creative Director at an advertising agency in Tbilisi.
