Lyn Coffin

Lyn Coffins verse rendering of the Georgian national epic, Shota Rustaveli’s The Knight in the Panther Skin (translated with Nato Alhazishvili) was published by Poezia Press in 2015 and won Georgia’s highest literary award, the SABA prize. A poet and novelist, Lyn has published more than 30 books, most recently the novel The Aftermath (Adelaide Books) – soon to be an Audible book narrated by Kris Keppeler. She began translating Georgian poetry and prose in 2013, with Anthology of Georgia Poetry  (Slavica), with the help of Gia Jokhadze. Her collaborative translations include Dato Barbakadze’s Still Life with Snow, Three Centuries of Georgian Poetry (Nikoloz Baratashvili, Galaktion Tabidze and Barbakadze) (Adelaide Books, 2020), and Zaza Abianidze’s Animalarky. She was the English translator in the multilingual book of Baratashvili’s poetry, published in 2017, and is translating Razhden Gvetadze’s poetry (with Zaal Zurabashvili and Nino Darbaiseli) for Kona books, due out in 2021.
